Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actress. Maggie Grace is most well-known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills in ABC's Lost television series. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of high school after her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. She then appeared on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy Secretary (2002) and in the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent received her a nomination for an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. She then appeared in dramas and comedies, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 The other roles she played were the role of a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in Frank (2014) as well as her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal began her career as a director, screenwriter and script writer when she directed and wrote The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama. The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by the Academy Award.
